Composed of four subfields: Akal, Nohoch, Chac, and Kutz
Fields formed from rubble caused by an asteroid years ago
In 2006, Cantarell produved 55% of the world average
Decline blamed on falling resevoir pressure (1979)
PEMEX injected nitrogen into the resevoir to counteract declining pressure: a success
Started to decline again :(
